85-Year-Old Registered Sex Offender arrested for trying to buy 8-Year-Old Girl For $100,000
An 85-year-old man identified as Hellmuth Kolb has been arrested in Florida, USA, for attempting to purchase an eight-year-old girl at a local grocery store.
The Port Orange Police Department said Mr Kolb approached the child’s mother, Lauren Benning, at a Winn Dixie in Port Orange Thursday and proposed to buy the child. Mr Kolb told Ms Benning that he liked how her daughter was dancing and felt she was pretty.
“He just came up, and he started making comments about how pretty she was and how good her dancing was and how he could never have children, and he wanted children,” Ms Benning said.
Initially, Benning did not suspect anything, but as she left the store with her child, Mr Kolb shouted across the parking lot that he wanted to buy her child for $100,000.
Ms Benning reported it to the police, and Mr Kolb was taken into custody.
Mr Kolb was on probation and was banned from having contact with children after trying to buy a different child in Walmart in 2018 for $200,000.
