The Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Women's Champions League has announced a $1.5 million Prize for the 2022 Women's Champions League Tournament that will begin in Morocco at the end of October.

The African football governing body has just announced that the eight countries competing in the 2022 tournament will split prize money of around $1.5 million.

The winning club will get $400,000, the runner-up club $250,000, and the two semi-finalists will split $200,000 in prize money.

Each of the two clubs that come in last place in their respective groups will receive $100,000, while the clubs that finished third will receive $150,000.

The competition is set to begin on October 30 and run through November 13 over three stadiums in two towns in Morocco, and Bayelsa Queens will be the only Nigerian team to participate.

In 2021, Egypt played host to the first competition in what would be known as the CAF Women's Champions League.

In the inaugural tournament, South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns prevailed over Ghana's Hasaacas Ladies by scoring 2-0 to claim victory.
