Singapore: Man Accused of Sexually Abusing And Raping His Minor Daughter.
An unnamed man stood trial in a Singapore court on Tuesday, November 8, for 13 offences, including rape, aggravated sexual assault by penetration and showing his daughter pornographic material.
The man, who has not been named with regard to his child's safety, allegedly instructed his kindergarten-aged daughter, who is now 15 and cut off from her family, to perform an indecent act on him in the bathroom, and when she was in Primary 3 or 4.
The unnamed minor claims that between the ages of 10 and 12, her father raped her and engaged in other sexually penetrating activities on her in several locations, including their house, the family car, and an office.
The 36-year-old man is contesting 13 counts of sexual misconduct against his biological daughter that were allegedly committed between 2012 and 2019.
He is facing charges bordering on aggravated statutory rape, ten counts of aggravated sexual assault by penetration, one count of indecency with a child, and one count of displaying an obscene object to a minor were, among the allegations brought against the suspect.
In its opening statement, the prosecution stated its case against the man: "The evidence led in this trial will uncover, one ghastly detail after another, how the accused systematically groomed and sexualised the victim from a tender young age."
The Straits Times reported that Deputy Public Prosecutor David Khoo announced that the victim would be testifying behind a screen so that she would not be able to see her father in the courtroom.
The prosecution claims the girl would testify that in 2012 or 2013, the man commanded her to perform an indecent act while he was naked on the toilet bowl and urged her not to tell anybody about it.
Prosecutors asserted that in 2016 or 2017, the man instructed her on how to access pornography on his iPad. As a result, she became increasingly intrigued and began searching for it independently.
From 2018-2019, he allegedly sodomised her in and around the house and forced her to engage in oral sex with him.
Prosecutors said the girl would testify that her father sexually assaulted her in the master bedroom in August 2019.
The man is accused of using a sex aid to assault her on September 11, 2019, continuing a pattern of abuse that began in early 2019.
According to the prosecution, the victim began cutting herself after being overwhelmed by the pressures of school, family, and her conviction that she could never tell anybody about her father's behaviour.
In 2019, the girl started confiding in three of her friends about the sexual assault, and those friends will testify about it.
At some point between the end of August and the beginning of September 2019, the girl, according to the prosecution, considered eloping. An alleged friend of the girl will testify that she eventually told her mother about the assault and that the mother, in turn informed school officials.
There will be testimony from the girl's form teacher, administrator, and school counsellor on how they learned of the crimes on September 13, 2019 and filed a report.
A physician who examined the girl will provide testimony regarding her diagnosis of chlamydia, a sexually transmitted disease, and a vaginal infection.
