Vietnam Players To Face Weather Challenges at Women's World Cup 2023

Later this month, the Vietnamese women's national football team will compete in the 2023 Women's World Cup, where they will be up against formidable opponents and harsh conditions.

Vietnam is experiencing its hot summer, while New Zealand is entering its much cooler winter.

Because Vietnam will have two weeks to adjust to the winter in New Zealand, head coach Mai Duc Chung is not excessively anxious. Chung promised that the coaches will have the team in top form before the big game.

"Before the SEA Games, we trained in the cold weather of Japan then went to Cambodia, a very hot place, but the players quickly adapted. The weather change from hot to cold is a challenge but not for us only, as other teams will also have face it", Chung said.

Vietnam will not only be challenged by the weather, but also by extremely formidable opponents in the group stage.

In the most recent competition, the United States came out on top, while the Netherlands took second place. Vietnam's last chance to get a point at the Women's World Cup is against Portugal, the only other team in Group E.

Vietnam left for New Zealand on a Wednesday and will be staying at a Rydges hotel while there. This is a four-star hotel in the heart of Auckland, not far from Eden Park, New Zealand's national stadium and the site of Vietnam's first World Cup match.

Before the World Cup, Vietnam will play two exhibition matches, one against the host nation of New Zealand on July 10, and another against Spain on July 14. 

Vietnam's group stage schedule included matches against the United States (July 22), Portugal (July 27), and the Netherlands (July 30).

Oceanuz, a ball with a sensor that can help the referees determine offside moves, will be used in all of the tournament's matches with video assistant referee technology.
