WAFCON 2022: Nigeria's Super Falcons Face South Africa's Banyana Banyana in Morocco

Nigeria's Super Falcons will be playing against the South Africa's Banyana Banyana today at the Stade Moulay Hassan stadium in Rabat, Morocco by 6pm Nigerian time.

The 2022 Women's African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) which kicked off on Saturday, sees the Falcons defending their title as the 9 times Women's AFCON champions.

Nigeria defeated South Africa 4-3 on penalties in the final four years ago in Ghana. 

Some players to watch from Nigeria include FC Barcelona player and African Women player of the year Asisat Oshoala and Gotham FC forward Ifeoma Onumonu.

On Sunday,  Defender Glory Ogbonna of Spain's Santa Teresa CD Feminino said she was confident of a Nigeria win as the team had trained their hardest to defend their title in Morocco.

From South Africa, players to watch include Thembi Kgatlana who was the 2018 WAFCON Player of the Tournament and Linda Mothalo, who scored two of the four goals against Nigeria in the final of the Aisha Buhari Cup in 2021. 

Nigeria is in Group C alongside title rivals, South Africa and debutants, Botswana and Burundi.
