On Tuesday, January 16, at about 4 o'clock in the afternoon, officers and personnel from the London Ambulance Service were called upon to a crime scene on Penhill Road, where they found a lady in her 30s with severe injuries.

Although she was taken to the hospital for immediate treatment, as of today, her health condition is still critical.

Tony Curant, a resident of Penhill, was taken into custody on January 20 in relation to the crime. On Monday, 22, he made his appearance at Bromley Magistrates' Court on charges of attempted murder.

Curant was remanded for a February 5 appearance before the Old Bailey.

"We arrived at the scene within three minutes of the initial report and provided first aid to the victim until paramedics arrived," said Inspector Graham Rickard of the police team for south east London.

"Sadly, she is very seriously injured and has been taken to hospital in a critical condition."

According to what Inspector Rickard has already said, the victim and her suspected assailant may have known one other.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police reported: “A man has appeared at court charged with attempted murder.

“Tony Curant, 33 (22.10.90) of Penhill Road, appeared at Bromley Magistrates' and was remanded to appear at the Old Bailey on Monday, 5 February.”
